The main purpose of this site is to show the price list for the film scans that I am doing as well as some sample pictures. As a film shooter, I find it quite ridiculous to pay photo lab more than $5 just for them to scan a low-res file for you. Therefore I wanna offering to help fellow film shooters to scan their pictures in high-res file and charging cheaper than photo labs.

I am currently a Film student in Singapore (that explains why I am crazy over films!). I shoot digital for freelance too. Mainly, I do studio shots, portraits, landscape and events.

Being a film student, I know how fragile films are. How easily it can get scratched and damaged. Rest assure that your negatives or slides are safe with me.

I always wear gloves during loading and unloading of film to the scanner. This is to prevents finger prints on film. Even the small dead skin on our human skin can scratch the precious film. I will also use a blower to blow away any dust on the negatives, slides and scanner before I scan. This is to get the best results without dust speck or scratches during scanning.

Workflow

All films are scanned using Canon 8800F with Vuescan Software. 

To ensure the best color by your film, I will lock the base color of the film before every roll of scan. This is to ensure that the scanner and film are calibrated, which will give the best results. All images will go through Auto Level so that all details will be kept within the histogram.

Sending of pictures to you

All pictures scanned in 1200dpi and 2400dpi will be sent to your email using www.yousendit.com. You can download your zipped up images from there quickly.

Unless you want CD/DVD, then I will mail it to you together with your negatives.

I will delete away the pictures once you received them. This is due to the huge storage spaces the pictures takes up.

1200 dpi 

Price: -$3 per roll for negative

          -$4 per roll for positives/slides

          -$3 for 120mm. 12 frames.

• Each file resolution is approx (1120×1680 for 35mm) (2900×2500 for 6×7)

2400 dpi 

Price: – $3.50 per roll for negatives

          - $4.50 per roll for positives/slides

          - $4.00 for 120mm. 12 frames.

• Each file resolution is approx (3350×2250 for 35mm) (5800×5000 for 6×7)

Serene’s Wedding Pictures

You can mail me your negatives to my house. I will also give you my house address we you contact me.

Please indicate your name, address, contact no. and which DPI you want me to scan in the envelop which you will be sending me together with the negatives.

Collection of negatives

As for the collection of negatives, I will mail it to you if you your ‘package’ comes with a CD/DVD. If not, we will meet up at both our convenience. If our timing clashes and stuff, I dont mind mailing to you. We can work that out. 

Duration of scan

Please give me about 3-4 days to scan during non-peak period.

As for peak period, please give me 4-5 days.

Payment Method

Please transfer payment to my POSB Savings account when you mail our negatives to me. I will give you my account no. when you contact me.
